Solmate, a SOL Reserve Strategy Company Backed by ARK
Brera Holdings was originally a sports holding company focused on multi-club operations. In September, it transformed into a SOL reserve strategy company and raised $300 million through a private investment in public equity (PIPE). This PIPE was sponsored by Pulsar Group, a UAE-based technology and blockchain consulting firm, and supported by traditional investment firms such as the Solana Foundation, RockawayX, and ARK Invest. Former Kraken Chief Legal Officer Marco Santori will serve as Solmate's CEO.
The company has been renamed Solmate, with its stock ticker changed from BREA to SLMT.
ARK Holds 11.5% of Solmate Shares
According to ARK's Schedule 13G report as of September 30, 2025, it holds approximately 11.5% of Solmate's shares. Previously, ARK purchased 6,500,001 shares in the oversubscribed PIPE round for Solmate Infrastructure, and subsequently acquired an additional 779,619 shares, totaling about 7.28 million shares.
ARK founder Cathie Wood also revealed in an interview that she is bullish on Solana, and her key mentor Arthur Laffer has joined Solmate's board of directors.
Solmate Buys $50 Million SOL at a Discount
Solmate announced yesterday (10/14) that it collaborated with the Solana Foundation to directly purchase $50 million worth of SOL from the ecosystem during the recent severe market liquidation, at a purchase price 15% below the market rate, significantly reducing the company's entry cost.
Solmate's Market Cap Reaches $930 Million
Based on ARK's 11.5% stake, Solmate's total shares are estimated at about 63.3 million. At yesterday's closing price of $14.69, the market cap has reached $930 million.
SLMT's stock price has fallen 70% from its post-transformation peak of $52, but the cost basis for PIPE investors like ARK is around $4.5, which is still much lower than the current price.
Did ARK Sell SLMT Shares for Profit in October?
According to the latest holdings on ARK's official website, Cathie Wood's ARK Invest holds a total of 6.89 million SLMT shares across three funds, detailed as follows:
ARKK: Bought 4,708,472 shares
ARKW: Bought 1,400,327 shares
ARKF: Bought 788,053 shares
This holding figure is slightly lower than the 7.28 million shares at the end of September, suggesting that ARK may have been taking profits intermittently during this period?
